A Brief Update On the Power of Prayer

Hi, friends,

Just a quick note to say "hi" and thank you for your prayers and encouragement.

I truly believe in the power of prayer. My surgery seems to have gone well, at least so far, and now I am in recuperation mode. In addition to the swelling and bruising (which is still emerging), I have to be cautious in eating for an extended time to come as my jaw is at increased risk for fracture until the bone grows back in completely. I have a follow-up with the surgeon on June 3rd. Then I will know more; for now, I am taking it easy.

That's about it for now. Thanks again for your support and please keep the prayers coming.

I Believe in the Power of Prayer!

I am a rather private person. Usually I write with news and prayer requests for others. This time I'm writing with a prayer request for myself.

Tomorrow I am scheduled to have the first surgery of my life. During a routine dental exam in March, x-rays revealed that a cyst is growing around an unerrupted wisdom tooth which is now horizontally impacted (lower right side). The cyst, which the doctor expects to be benign but will biopsied to be certain, had made its way into my lower jaw and is deteriorating the bone so both cyst and tooth must be removed before they cause the jaw to break.

The surgery is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Thursday morning, May 22. The doctor anticipates the procedure will take about 1 1/2 hours if all goes smoothly.
I will offer up the experience for you and your intentions.
I count on your prayers!
