Advent 1 - My Soul in Stillness Waits...

Advent has arrived. Our time of waiting, expectation, and stillness. The lighting of the first candle on the Advent wreath signifies a flicker of light illuminating our way to the birth of the Light of the World which we look to celebrate on Christmas. A tiny little light, a tiny little baby. Barely noticeable, either one, yet filled with the promise of all that is and is yet to be. The tiny flame that tops the first candle of the Advent wreath reminds me of the bright light that lives within me, Jesus Himself. The tiny flickering flame calls me to enter into the stillness on the journey towards Christmas.

A New Look

With the end of another Church year and the start of a new one, I decided to give my blog a new look, nothing fancy, but just some "fresh paint," you might say. I hope you find the change inviting and relaxing.

Thanksgiving

In the words of a song by Gregory Norbert (formerly of Weston Priory), my thanksgiving prayer for you:

"With thanksgiving to God, [my] prayer is

always filled with profound joy for you.

When [I] think of the strength you are for others,

letting God live in you with such beauty and truth."

I'm Still Here...

I haven't been blogging for quite sometime since unexpectedly for the past six weeks much of my time has not been my own. However, things appear to be returning to usual (I won't say "normal") so I hope to get back in the swing of things. I have so many thoughts swirling around my mind, things I want to contemplate and share, but it will take some time to get through them all. In the meantime, expect an elections reflection from me ... very VERY soon!
