I took him off dry dog food and tried to "cook" for him, twice a day. You can find info on natural diets all over the internet. He lost weight tremendously and could never get it back.

We'd put him in the bathroom at night and whenever we're gone, it being the easiest place to clean. At night, I'd sleep on the floor in the bedroom across from that bathroom so that I could see him whenever he'd alert me that he needed to go out (we propped the door slightly ajar with a chair). In his last days, he couldn't control his bladder. By the time I got up to get him, he'd have done it already, so I'd just lay down dry newspaper for him.

He'd always keep me in his sight. As weak as he was, he'd follow me everywhere. Some days I didn't know if he'd make it. I didn't know what I would find in the morning. He was a very good dog. Our vet was very good with us when we put him down. he was 10 yrs. old.

Prior to that we had a Golden Retriever who came down with Leukemia. She was only 5yrs. when she died naturally. We were back and forth to Texas A&M; had to buy her medicine at Eckerd's, and tried premium foods. We almost lost the house trying to save her, we were just a hair short of having the house in the foreclosure market.

I wish you the best with Lady.seeking_somethinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11295360210232758085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15137181.post-1135002844120749342005-12-19T09:34:00.000-05:002005-12-19T09:34:00.000-05:00Thanks, Steph, all the prayers will help in whatev...Thanks, Steph, all the prayers will help in whatever way God chooses. I myself never had pets growing up {sniff}, but I know the connections that can develop between pets and their people ... especially if you consider the number of arguments between people and their people vs. people and their pets.

So, I guess this is a preventative in case someone tries to dismiss this.

Peace and blessings to you all ...Steph Youstrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12799345194981358171noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15137181.post-1134927338538336412005-12-18T12:35:00.000-05:002005-12-18T12:35:00.000-05:00Thank you so much, Lauren.LisaThank you so much, Lauren.
LisaLisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11984922178492683577noreply@blogger.com
